Seasonal: Running & Fitness Camp Facilitator
Each summer Wings coordinates a series of two-day “Running & Fitness” camps for youth in Native communities across the U.S. Though the reach of our summer programs varies from year to year, Wings typically looks to hire at least twenty Facilitators on any each summer.
The best facilitator/assistant facilitator candidates are young, energetic, hard working, athletic, well spoken and passionate about positively impacting the health and wellness of Native youth. If hired, Facilitators are required to attend the Wings Indian Running Coaches’ Clinic and Leadership Training in Santa Fe, NM during early June. All employees must be age 16 or older.
***Note: Though there is no “maximum” age for a Wings facilitator, preference is given to currently enrolled college and high-school-aged American Indian student-athletes***
Though the application for summer 2018 Facilitator positions will not be available until next March, you can review the 2017 application below to understand the application process.
Feel free to contact executive director, Dustin Martin, with questions or to request you be notified next spring when the 2018 application is available: email@example.com
Volunteer: “Flight Club” & Community Running Events
If your passion for running or positive youth development in Indian Country seeks a constructive outlet in some other form than a full-time job or a summer facilitator position, please contact Program Director, Dustin Martin, at (505) 982-6761 for more information about how to get involved with Wings.
Wings has begun a volunteer-driven in-school and after-school program for elementary and middle school youth called “Flight Club”. Flight Club leaders must agree to coordinate at least two sessions for club members each week throughout the semester and report members’ attendance and progress to the Wings office. Participants are rewarded throughout the season as they hit mileage goals and prove their commitment through attendance. Please contact the Wings office if you are interested in starting a Flight Club chapter for Native youth in your area.
