Join Wings and the producers of 3100: Run & Become for the theatrical premiere of their feature-length documentary. The opening will be hosted at Santa Fe’s Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) on Friday, August 17th at 6:00pm. This film looks to cultures across the world to try to highlight the spiritual enlightenment humans find through ultra distance running. Wings Board Member, Shaun Martin, becomes a driving character in the film as the cameras follow him on his journey to retrace the steps his father took when he ran away from boarding school as a boy. With his father’s blessing, he decides to run from the site of the school in Leupp, AZ back to his family’s homestead 100 miles away.
Other featured characters include a Finnish paper boy attempting to complete his 14th 3,100 mile “self transcendence” race, a bushman from the Kalahari running to preserve his people’s way of life and a Japanese monk working to complete the most demanding “prayer marathon” of his order.
